Grown and gathered at Cedar Springs Homestead
2025 Harvest
Bright, bold, and incredibly useful — these French marigolds (Tagetes patula) bring vibrant colour and resilience to the garden. With deep orange and red tones and tightly ruffled petals, they’re as beautiful as they are practical.
We save these from our own garden each year for good reason: they thrive in our temperate climate, bloom for months, and earn their keep in any veggie patch. Known for their natural pest-repelling properties, marigolds are the perfect companion plant for tomatoes, brassicas, and more.
🌼 Why we grow them:
– Long-lasting blooms with rich colour
– Attracts bees and beneficial insects
– Can deter some pests naturally
– Easy to grow and self-sow
– Great for borders, pots, and pathways
To grow:
Direct sow in spring once the soil has warmed. Plant in full sun, spacing seedlings 20–25cm apart. Pinch young plants to encourage bushiness. Deadhead to keep flowers coming or let a few go to seed for next season.
No chemicals. No hybrids. Just seed from hardy, reliable plants that have flourished in our Central Coast garden.
Hand-packed with care — from our garden to yours.
